This is a true story:
there was once a reputable stock broker who reside in New York who just started his small family with his loving wife.
On a trip to a business meeting, his plane crashed and he suffered 90% body skin burn damage. His skin just keep tearing and dropping off while in the hospital ICU, imagine the physical torture of it. When his families and friends came to visit him, he didn't show any sign of anger or pity for himself, instead he told them that it is just a "temporary problem" and "it will be fine soon". The first time when he returned home, he didn't cry when he saw his badly burnt face in the mirror. He just turn and look at his wife who was then by his side, and said "Dear, I think i can take some time off finally from my hectic work for a good facial and spa". When one of his friend who didn't know about the news called him out for lunch one day, he straight away agree. When they met, his friend was totally shocked and worried and asked "what happen to you? why didn't you tell me so I can be by your side to help you out a bit". His reply to his friend was " IT'S JUST A SMALL TEMPORARY PROBLEM, Don't worry, If not for the free rest time i had during my recuperation, I wouldn't have known that I actually have great interest in being an entrepreneur, I started my first internet website business last week and look, i wouldn't be able to do it if i continue my earlier work schedule as a Stock broker".
And finally after 8 years of regular skin therapy and surgery, our dear friend really recovered 85% of his original outlook, and doctors had told him that the technology in recovery and removal of burnt cell therapy is constantly improving and soon he will recover even more of his original look. Really, it was a temporary problem.

Britain wanted to see france weakened by being bled to death, to have all the allies doing slave work for england, and to secure the submission off all the neural states of Europe. 'Great Britain is of all the most egoistic and fiercest , the most obstinate enemy. The german statesman who would HESTITATE to use against this enemy every available instrument of battle that will really shorten the war- such a statesman should be HANGED.'"
Chlorine gas was first used by the germans on the war front on april 22 1915, the earliest victim were some french-african troops. The second use killed 2000 Canadian troops and cause a mutiny in the French Senegalese ranks against their white officers.
in 1916, Georgi Zhukov, who earlier won the St Geroge's Cross for bravery , was injured by a mine while on a mounted reconnaissance patrol. He would later receive the surrender of Berlin in 1945 as chief-of-staff of the Red Army

communism and poverty
in early 1848, in london, a 29 year old German philosopher Karl Marx, along with his 27 year old textile-manufacturer friend Friedrich Engels published the pamphlets later famously known as the Communist Manifesto. Days later, revolutions broke first in France, removing the French monarchy, and later in some other parts in Europe..
"a dictator is there to control the revolution; a revolution is there to put in a dictator.."
now, despite the fact that the practise of communism in itself has been altered and the system of running changed varying to different former communist nations prior to the breakup of the Berlin wall and China's first direct civilian flight to US on a commercial plane(2 of the many examples of the beginning of a softening communist grip and a more capitalist entry), there are still the infamous North Korea that has still been making the Headlines in global news.
nationalist, monarchy and democratic nations' governments fear poverty
but communist nations' governments fear wealth..
the reason for many uprisings against leadership in many countries in the early part of the 20th century was mainly led by the middle class..okay let me tell you this first..the world has been circling around this 'imaginary' system of the 3 caste or group. There are firstly the richest and most powerful group but has the least percentage population, second is the middle class with the average wealth and power, third is the poorest and least educated people.
all along since the first society appear, the first group has always wanted to hold onto that place for as long as possible, the second always wanting to fight for the place of the first group and the last eyeing only at most for a spot in the 2nd group. Most of time the 2nd group, due to lack of financial resource or military power, resort to using,mis-leading and 'cheating' the 3rd group into pushing the 1st group out of power on the pretext of fighting for the rights of the 3rd group, and after that, kicking the 3rd group back to where they once were after assuming power. And due to the fact that they don't want people to overthrow or revenge them, they control the nations with an iron fist, eliminating former 1st group members and even friends in the 2nd group which may oppose or capable of opposing them. These were what happened to almost all of the communist nation in the beginning..decades of purges, executions, labour camps,the secret police breaking into homes at night, disappearance of people and breakdown of families...
the new leaders, the once 2nd group people knew this very well themselves as they were once a part of it in the widely proven belief : when people have the free time, luxury of having enough food, wealth in their pockets, they will start to want to THINK for themselves and challenge the leadership.
sure, at least 7 large-scale and major famines had struck the few communist states altogether since their beginning and most outsiders believed that it was due to these famines and other natural disasters that cause these nations to be poor and having a starving population when the communist grip was at its peak..

from the earlier passage i did mention about the new rulers fearing the revenge of the others, so even if there are no disaster of famines... i firmly believe they will do whatever it takes to make sure the distribution of products/ rations are always a lot less than necessary, leaving the population to starvation rather than with any inch of an abundance.
in simple terms, by continuing creating a starving population, people will have to work harder and longer hours at the industrials and agriculture work rather than thinking about overthrowing the government...agree?
so now..what about the "WEALTH" mentioned earlier..well they manage to direct the extra product produced that month into the military and continuing creating a very unsecure and pre-war environment with an enemy so that it creates that unity and loyalty to the nation(seldom found in peace time nations) and that anyone who dares to oppose the meagre rationing has a simple charges to him: treason. The rest of it, ie the complains and bitter remarks on the communist government by individuals, are taken care of by the secret police, and even the fear of denouncing by even your children(who has been sent to special boot camps to be brainwashed) to the police is enough to make everyone keep quiet during the 'golden days' of communism.
this may be one of the jigsaw puzzle piece to why news reports of millions of children being malnourished and starving to death since the first communist nation began(namely the former soviet union), never stops leaking to the outside world.

What's next!!
Can our world handle all the natural disasters in the world?
If government bodies don't do enough now to reduce effects causing climate change, which has been proven to be a major cause of all these 'natural' disaster..
this may happen..

people living near coastal areas will start moving inland..thousand of miles of land from the sea will be flooded and a few communities of people who decide to stay due to whatever reason(eg their livelihood on fishing or discrimination from inland communities(which may be of a different nationality or culture)) onto the few highlands surrounded by flooded sea water. In less than 100 thousand years, those people who still live there may mutate into aquatic-humans..briefly said..people will have foot like duck webbings and their fingers may turn into 2 small flippers while their arm start to change shape to fit their needs underwater. People who manage to move inland will remain almost the same as far as i think...
Okay..if you studies botany or history..you may come across this article..
"the first plants which is capable of photosynthesis appear not at the beginning of the world but is after a few billion years after that" or that the first creature to walk on land appear from the sea"...
all of us used to take for granted that most plants is already able to photosynthesis, but at the beginning, plants are not able to do that..it's only after a change of habitat or 'gene' that cause the plants to mutate or modify itself into photosynthesis-capable..
when someone mentioned of a cloned child or mammal, something that is new or out of unknown..it draws large resistance from religious and human-rights group..I do agree that it is not really morally-right to create a living things in that way. However we must also consider the fact that living things do mutate and modify themselves as their way of living change over thousand of years or when science reaches that level, we are also living things, if it really happen on a large scale( a whole community created from clones), It will be terrible to imagine but possible to happen..
..and whether that mutation or change in human beings is a curse or blessing..nobody knows

saving the environment- the WM way?
A few years back, a US representative for a global warming conference was slapped with a cake on his face by a female pro-environmental protestor. She lamented that although the US was the highest producer of green house gases, they didn't do anything about it and yet pushed the blame to small developing countries. That incident, shown on the evening local chinese tv news, interested me..and perhaps you..
I should be around age of 15 or 17 then i couldn't remember vividly...a time when I,or WE, are spending time and interest only in our hobbies like flying kites, watching animes, hopping and jumping around everyday in full color and texture of what a perfect life is...including the few mundane process of doing homework.., a lot to look forward to the future..your career, future family...
until when tv news,documentaries and info-advertisement and promotion campaigns of companies or politicians started to bombard us with cynical and naysayer's prediction and depiction of the horrific future of the world UNLESS we start doing something about it...
Yup..GLOBAL WARMING is kinda getting out of control, the beautiful but unlucky polar bears are drowning, coastal cities are threatened to be wiped out by cyclones with record scale of damage, inland places faces desertification, thousands of small and vulnerable species of frogs,birds,insects and fish will bid their last farewell within 30 years from now,temperature will rise by 15 degrees by end of century, or we will only need 1% of the global GDP to solve the environment problem now than to spend a few times more global GDP to handle the crisis 10year down the road..
Up to now..what have you been wanting to speak?
That what i said above, is too terrible to be digested, aren't polar bears well kept in the zoo, aren't life in our city almost the same?..why must u say such terrible things of the future?
Well, the accuracy or reality of all this happenings and many others, are told by experts, we as the common people don't have those concrete information ourselves
but I choose to believe
next..what had been done so far?
small steps have been taken in developed nations like sweden who started converting most of their energy sources from natural sources, reducing need for fuel..small improvements here and there as companies are under pressured to cut down co2 emission or face fines(which mostly amounts up to $10000 only) and public pressure..sandwiched also by boards of directors who may want fat returns on their investment in the company and refuse any operation that will lower the profit of that financial year...as far as we could say..there are really improvements to the situation, a little at least..
my main focus..is that the leadership of countries must be the first to stand up, admit the situation and start taking actions..
asking and pleading citizens to save water, re-use plastic bags, don't buy CFCs products and save energy, and in meanwhile bombarding us with how bad the situation is will just be a waste of time and only depresses us more...
as in any instructions from the top down in all organizations, all instructions must be re-inforced with 1) leaderships, 2) follow-ups and 3)reviews..When Wal-Mart encourages his employees to have the 10-foot rule(to stop work instantly, walk towards,greet sincerely and ask if help is needed for any customers in that distance from the 'associates'), the leadership don't just say it loudly for a one time affair and ask their employees to do it. Instead, the leaders(the management) lead by examples themselves by being the most enthusiastic in carrying out the practices,remind on the reason of doing so frequently, follow-up on whether everybody perform it well,(counselling anybody who refuse to abide to it) and do regular reviews on whether it is a success or it's just PLAIN ASKING..
...and when the management, in our society case is the leadership, doesn't start showing to people they are doing it evidently..to what scale can the masses be enthusiastic enough to follow the call to 'help save the world'?..
we want to help save the world, but we are individuals ourselves, and we don't have the leadership control,resources and power to affect the world as much as an organization or nation does..and if the big guys don't bother about it..you can't really rely on the least empowered and resourced to be motivated to follow guidelines and feel responsible for doing it at a large context of everyday life..

Why marriages fail-part 2
story:
John returns home after a tired day at work. The first thing he saw and heard was Mary sitting by the phone speaking angrily to the other line. John then bathe and get changed. After coming out from the bathroom, he could still see Mary on the phone. Mary was complaining to her friends how demanding and rude her manager is...not giving her any compensation for OT, scolding her infront of the other office workers, always threatening to retrench her...
Now John sits at the sofa infront of the tv and watch the 6.30pm Chinese news. In actual fact, he couldn't hear what the news presenter was saying, as his concern goes only to his wife, his ears are only tunned to what her wife is complaining. The more he listen the more he felt "useless" and "incapable" of preventing her wife from being bullied at work. He would think, if only I am richer and more successful, these things won't happen to my wife...however when he look at himself being just a low-rank executive in a huge company, he began to automatically lose some confidence in himself and his mood begins to worsen as he Thinks that it is almost impossible for him to change things over immediately...he began to think of short, impatient and passive actions to try to solve her wife's problem...even before Mary hangs up, John started to suggest that Mary quits her job, complain to her higher management or...(and in a way interrupted the conversation between Mary and her friend, a no-go thing to do)
Mary became pissed, she started speaking back at John in a tone as though John doesn't care for her at all...such as.."I am now just saying how i feel, you think i am wrong". John become irritated, "WHAT HAPPEN?" why did Mary thinks John is not showing concern for her?
Explanation: Men's thinking leans towards problem solving. Women's leans towards feeling and compassion...understand? Mary was irritated when John prompted all the "problem solving" method cause all she wanted was care and concern, not "you should do this you should do that" words from John. 98% of all women's complain asked for just a simple word or show of concern and affection, not asking for you "clever" man to solve it for them. Likewise for John, when he feels he CANNOT DO ANYTHING TO CHANGE THE SITUATION, his testosterone level sinks to the bottom and he began to lose confidence and get impatient
Solutions: John should wait until Mary HAD FINISHED TALKING ON THE PHONE AND EATEN DINNER and maybe a while after she HAD CALMED DOWN, then should he sit beside her and stretch out his hand to cover her hands and asked her how is her day. Immediately, Mary will started saying and complaining everything all over again to John..and the next step is SUPER CRUCIAL: John must NOT interrupt Mary with his "problem solving" speech,he MUST pay full concentration to her and encourage her to keep on saying, i repeat, KEEP ON SAYING. I can promise you after Mary had really said everything bottled in her mind, her temperature will go back normal, and John will be ranked as one of the best husband in the world because he LISTENS, NOT SOLVE or interrupt. Women wanted their guy partners to listen to them deeply and show understanding..thats all for today..

Why marriages fails?- Chapter one
When you meet someone you love and who loves you also,
Both of you fell in love,
You perform at your best to impress the other partner,
and you accepted his/her flaws as he/she accepted yours also,
But why would our local divorce rates are going up when people accepted each other flaws, from the beginning at least?
YOU MUST WATCH the movie THE BREAKUP.
Nope i not a Jennifer aniston fan, or a serious movie goer
but that show tells people a lot about our relationships with our partners...
In the show, the relationships crack started when Jennifer Aniston's family came to their home and her husband "didn't help"...the rest is up for you to watch...
Man is a hunter and woman is the gatherer.
It has been always like that, though the early female movements obtained voting rights, equal emloyment rights and same rights to civil liberty, much hasn't change in the family context.
let me name a simple couple as Mary and John
Case 1: Mary just get home from work, she quickly changed and get ready the dinner, she forget to buy a bottle of chilli for the dinner, she called John to get it, and she continue to make dinner and clean the house. When John returned, he just sit on the living room couch after putting the bottle of chilli on the kitchen table. He switched on the tv and watch his favourite news time or sports channel. Mary discovered that John had bought the wrong brand of the ingredient, she was used to the other brand. She told John but hewas just absorbed with the tv and refuse to go down. Mary returned to the kitchen and felt unhappy, start complaining. John became irritated with her complaining also...bad for the relationship
Explanation: woman are gatherer and their hands just keep on working, there's no stopping. Just look at how your mother clean up the house and you know that she don't bother to stop for rest. She will say : i haven't do this this and this , and you just do nothing to help? Woman care more about what they haven't done than what they had accomplish. Thus without settling down for a short nap Mary started making dinner. But for john, after a day at work, the hunter feeling is out, he THINKS HE DESERVE A GOOD REST NOW. So he just sit down and watch tv. He will felt irritated when the woman said he didn't did a good job(buying the wrong chilli) and he THINKS I HAD DONE MY PART AND APPRECIATE ME FOR IT.
Possible solutions: mary should have thanked John for buying the chilli first and then request politely that he had bought the wrong brand, and that the drive to the nearest convenient store won't take up too much of this tv time and he can enjoy a good meal after it. This way John will feel his testosterone level going up and felt important instead of being unappreciated.
John should have at least apologise to Mary. He should understand the point of view of Mary that she deserve a help or just a simple word of "honey, mmm...what are you cooking today, your dress looks nice on you.." and thanks for making dinner for him. John must also offered a little help at the kitchen, maybe simply washing the vegetables or beating the eggs..just 5 short minute of help at the kitchen is more appreciated by mary than 5 roses...guys...which is better?

Aries VS Virgo
a small snacks for you...
it's just a "superstitious" thingy so please don't take it too seriously okay
i gain these few knowledge about horoscope from a few years of "Vegging" in front of the TV, especially Mtv chinese and taiwan variety shows... viewers discretion is advised...PG
Aries:
Aries guys are a very emotional and passionate lot. When during breakups or bad quarrels with partners, most of the guys who like those in dramas: intoxicating oneself with alcohol, throwing glass wines or getting into fights, are mostly Aries guys. To most Aries guys(and maybe Aries girls as well), we are family oriented. If you want to win the heart of an aries, you got to care for his/her family first. What i mean is this...No matter how you try to court her or win her heart with your love letters, brochures, pamplets, emails...She WON"T like you UNLESS she already LIKES you INITIALLY. So if you like a scorpion girl but after a long time she still don't show any special care and concern for you, DON"T BE A COCKSTER and waste your time. Scorpion girls will give strong hints to you if they are attracted to you. And if you break up with a scorpion girl, she most likely refuse to be even friends with you cause she will hate you.
Leo:
Leo tends to want to have the romance under her control. Leo girls specially wanted to be the one to suggest breakup cause it allows them to feel to be in control. Sagittarius:
saggittarius guys and girls tend to be the most attractive among their other friends(oops did i hurt anyone's feelings?) He will loiter around the school computer labs, computer stores and comic stores. His favourites are anime and cartoons. He most of time look at the floor wherever he go as he try to avoid eye-to-eye contact. He knows everything about the latest IT gadgets in stores, is a genius in computer repair and basically live his life around computers. He is pretty good at studies and will ace subjects like computer and science. Chess club, librarian, computer and biology club is his dream CCA. He will tell you "hey you should not have bought that computer last week. Its graphic card is not the latest and it's application features sucks, you should have listen to me and...." . Well, he may be the next Bill Gates or Michael Dell, who knows?

is Mary
she is a girl who always never fails to attract your attention. It will not be surprising that most of the guys in your class also can't take their eyes off her. She will be in the latest fashion of clothes and accessories. She will charm everyone with her sweet voice and looks. She won't bother to talk to the average Joe. She prefer to clique with other expert socialites like her. She is too busy to join a CCA cause all her time is spent on makeup, shopping and dating. But if CCA is a compulsory thing, she will want to sign up for society or music and drama club. You can find them clubbing every saturday night. If you got a chance to talk to her or face-to-face encounter with her, she will say "wow, look at my watch here, xxx(a stupid rich guy) bought them for $xxxx at xxx(store) to give me leh. i don't want one but he still insisted, aiyah so sweet..." is tom
he is the king at the basketball court. Once a while he also rules the soccer field and running tracks. Every day after school you will know exactly where to find him. He will be in his basketball shorts and sweating a few litres of sweat. Girls keep staring at him. at his muscular build and manly movements during the games( especially when basketball becomes wrestling ). He tends to hand in his homework late so don't bother to ask him to let you copy yesterday's tutorials, instead you should lend him. He will appear sleepy during class as his spirit is still at the court and his mind is still running the tracks or thinking how to kick the ball pass the other team's goalkeeper. If you want to challenge him to a game of basketball...good luck...he may shout "kao, you so near can't even get the ball in, nevermind i can volunteer to coach you, $100 per 1 hour training session okay? Deal? " Well, he is more money-minded than Michael Jordan and Lance Armstrong.

is Ah Seng
he will always be the topic of conversation between teachers in office. He will always be caught for all the things that he shouldn't do: tucked out shirt, shouting and teasing at teachers, not handing in homework at all, top the class in every test from the bottom up. He believe in living his own rules, that no one can control him. He has a very vast reservoir of vocabulary of vulgar language. He always try to act cool infront of girls by boasting how many people (smaller size poor guys younger than him ) that he beat up and how many acres of land he "control". He seems to make others afraid of him as time goes by. However he is always dressed in the most funky clothes and stylish hairstyle and accessories. If he has to join a CCA he should be in rugby. But once in a full moon he will surprise you by saying "brother, thanks for helping me cheat during the exam, i OWE you one, anyone bully you tell me hor i go K him"...well, no thanks...to a next tribal chief
the 5th person is someone you can't miss out...
is Michael
he belongs to a majority of people you can find in this vast world. He tends to live peacefully with a small group of friends. Wearing expensive clothes only during special occasions, prefer less rigorous but rewarding CCAs like Civil Defence and adventure club. His circle of friends is his classmates, and only his classmates. He try to remain low profile and is very happy to always stay around with his classmates. Arcade is his love, but he may still say "I will want to concentrate on my studies so I can enter a good college and then enter a good university and then a good job and then a good managerial post and then a good retirement and then..." His life is really planned out, just like the uncle next door...
You and me may find ourselves very much alike to one of them, but there may be also a little bit of the other. You don't have to totally BELONG to any one of them, cause none of them are perfect, but it do pays to take a look at the positive attributes of the other characters. If you are a Michael, you may want to get some sporting energies from Tom and go to the nearest basketball to sweat it out after a long day at school, or learn the communication skills and confidence of Mary to make more friends in your CCAs and in school, or you can obtain the computer-sense from John and help your girlfriend repair her antique computer...
You should remain as what you are comfortable with, but be willing to dare to and be open minded towards exploring and adopting other people's positive traits...

She prefer to clique with other expert socialites like her. She is too busy to join a CCA cause all her time is spent on makeup, shopping and dating. But if CCA is a compulsory thing, she will want to sign up for society or music and drama club. You can find them clubbing every saturday night. If you got a chance to talk to her or face-to-face encounter with her, she will say "wow, look at my watch here, xxx(a stupid rich guy) bought them for $xxxx at xxx(store) to give me leh. i don't want one but he still insisted, aiyah so sweet..." the 3rd person you will encounter...
is tom
he is the king at the basketball court. Once a while he also rules the soccer field and running tracks. Every day after school you will know exactly where to find him. He will be in his basketball shorts and sweating a few litres of sweat. Girls keep staring at him. at his muscular build and manly movements during the games( especially when basketball becomes wrestling ). He tends to hand in his homework late so don't bother to ask him to let you copy yesterday's tutorials, instead you should lend him. He will appear sleepy during class as his spirit is still at the court and his mind is still running the tracks or thinking how to kick the ball pass the other team's goalkeeper. If you want to challenge him to a game of basketball...good luck...he may shout "kao, you so near can't even get the ball in, nevermind i can volunteer to coach you, $100 per 1 hour training session okay? Deal? " Well, he is more money-minded than Michael Jordan and Lance Armstrong.
the 4th person that will cross your path...
is Ah Seng
he will always be the topic of conversation between teachers in office. He will always be caught for all the things that he shouldn't do: tucked out shirt, shouting and teasing at teachers, not handing in homework at all, top the class in every test from the bottom up. He believe in living his own rules, that no one can control him. He has a very vast reservoir of vocabulary of vulgar language. He always try to act cool infront of girls by boasting how many people (smaller size poor guys younger than him ) that he beat up and how many acres of land he "control". He seems to make others afraid of him as time goes by. However he is always dressed in the most funky clothes and stylish hairstyle and accessories. If he has to join a CCA he should be in rugby. But once in a full moon he will surprise you by saying "brother, thanks for helping me cheat during the exam, i OWE you one, anyone bully you tell me hor i go K him"...well, no thanks...to a next tribal chief
the 5th person is someone you can't miss out...
is Michael
he belongs to a majority of people you can find in this vast world. He tends to live peacefully with a small group of friends. Wearing expensive clothes only during special occasions, prefer less rigorous but rewarding CCAs like Civil Defence and adventure club. His circle of friends is his classmates, and only his classmates. He try to remain low profile and is very happy to always stay around with his classmates. Arcade is his love, but he may still say "I will want to concentrate on my studies so I can enter a good college and then enter a good university and then a good job and then a good managerial post and then a good retirement and then..." His life is really planned out, just like the uncle next door...
You and me may find ourselves very much alike to one of them, but there may be also a little bit of the other. You don't have to totally BELONG to any one of them, cause none of them are perfect, but it do pays to take a look at the positive attributes of the other characters. If you are a Michael, you may want to get some sporting energies from Tom and go to the nearest basketball to sweat it out after a long day at school, or learn the communication skills and confidence of Mary to make more friends in your CCAs and in school, or you can obtain the computer-sense from John and help your girlfriend repair her antique computer...
You should remain as what you are comfortable with, but be willing to dare to and be open minded towards exploring and adopting other people's positive traits...
